Good Friday afternoon,

As a church (New Testament church), we’ve been practising two sacraments or ceremonies for thousands of years. These ceremonies of the Lord’s table and water baptism have been given to us by the Lord Jesus as signs that point us to the beauty of the gospel.

Romans 6:3–4 (ESV) — 3 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

This Sunday we’ll be baptising some disciples of Jesus who want to walk in obedience to the Lord through the waters of baptism. As we do this we’ll be pointed to the gospel of our Lord. Let’s celebrate and worship Jesus as we encourage those who are being baptised.

This weekend at Exchange Church:

  • EC Ladies Saturday, Feb 11th. 8:45am meeting at the Lake for a morning walk.
Then followed by 9:30am for brekky at Belcibo café. All ladies are welcome to attend.
Any questions please contact Emily at 0447118954
  • EC Sunday gathering @ 10:00am.
Water baptism in the carpark at the end of the service. Bring a hat for standing outside.

This week for preaching we’ll focus on what the bible tells us about baptism. We’ll be in Colossians 2:6-15 “Baptism Points to the Gospel”, as a foundation.

We’ll be back in Galatians next Sunday.

Special Note: Due to the challenges of our venue can we all please make use of the seats towards the front of the Hall. It’s a blessing that we can leave the back rows for families with preschool children and also our visitors as well. As a valued regular EC family member please move forward and take up the seats at the front. We appreciate your help here.

In Christ,
